THE SCHOOL OF WORLD MISSIONS
Master of Arts in Christian Leadership (MACL)
Course Description
The sixty-unit MACL program equips students to become effective pastors, church planters, and cross-cultural workers. Classroom meetings are designed for teaching and interaction with discussions focused on leadership, church planting and church growth, and strategies in missions. Homiletics, hermeneutics, and a course on a minister’s life are also included. To complete the program, each student undergoes mentoring and internship, and experiences short-term outreaches. Even with this program’s well-rounded curriculum, academic excellence is not the final goal; the development of the leader’s character will always be the major objective.
ASIAN THEOLOGICAL SEMINARY
Graduate Diploma in Intercultural and Urban Studies (G. Dip. I.U.S.)
Course Description
The Graduate Diploma in Intercultural and Urban Studies is designed to improve the qualifications and skills of pastors, evangelists, church planters, church workers, mission administrators, missionaries, and missionary candidates who desire training at the graduate level, but who, for various reasons, choose not to complete the Master of Arts or Master of Divinity degree at this time in their lives. It aims to develop Christian practitioners who are able to initiate and sustain evangelism, discipleship, and church planting efforts in culturally sensitive, holistic, and transformational ways. It emphasizes the practical dimensions of ministry with many of the courses requiring out-of-classroom exposure and research trips. It contains most of the major mission courses included in the Master of Arts and Master of Divinity programs.
